Krav Maga

Krav Maga

Approximately 40 years ago Krav Maga first appeared, thus making it a modern self defense method today. Created by the Isreali Defense forces, it was needed in order to teach self defense to different people with a variety of abilities and skills in a short amount of time.

Imi Lichenfield integrated Krav Maga into army training, Imi is a career IDF officer and also the chief instructor at Wingate institute, at the army’s physical training facility. Imi is himself still very actively involved as president in the Krav Maga Association.

Over the years, the Kray Maga system has been used not only by the IDF, but by Isreali's security forces as well, plus the Mosad and the police. This system has been computer tested, and is re-examined and adjusted on a constant ongoing basis. Krav Maga’s focus is on building readiness, confidence and physical fitness. Today Krav Maga is part of many public schools syllabus in Israel.
